This map takes place mostly on water, with only a few small islands jutting up above the surface. There are fog layers close to the water, and above the base as well, thus making travelling in vehicles very difficult unless you do so at a low/medium altitude. The low fog also allows for tanks to hide some distance away and be hidden from view. Very interesting strategies can be employed here, as has been seen in testing on a public server. A very fun and refreshingly different mission!

Hint: You can fly to the enemy base underwater, just below the surface. The water surface will help you stay level while the stealth aspect can surprise the enemy.

by Mathias Black on May 4, 2001 Permalink · Rating:This map has potential but needs a few small adjustments. First, there are no base turrets at all. There are 4 gens placed in odd directions when you really only need 1 in each room. The base definately needs at least one sentry turret somewhere inside. The Inv. stations are arranged pretty good and the repair pack is easy to find. Just add some turrets and tighten up the gen rooms and it'll be a great map.

The ridges that are in the water between the bases make good places for mid/hvy d with rockets but that d could be bypassed underwater or just flying high enough to not be seen. I like the easily assessable gens and flag which forces tight defense. I wouldn't mind this map going to ladders.

by TseTse on September 8, 2001 Permalink · Rating:Going back through and catching up on comments. This is simply one of my favorite maps. I almost think of it as a "base" map, at this point. The gameplay is absolutely terrific, and in standard Necro-style, it's simplicity is it's brilliance. The environment adds so much, and for water maps, this is my favorite around.
