Capture the Flag Volcanic Foggy

I figured it was high-time I made a decent lava-map, so here it is! The bases have the flag in a seperate tower from the main base, which is mildly protected by forcefields. There are also two floating vehicle pads per team, and a large capturable objective in the center of the map with humorously trapped characters in stasis that cry for help. :) Generally it's a fun map that results in only a few cappings here and there, and has received some very good compliments in-game (not the least of which is people voting to change to this mission). :)

Thank you Necro! I had the priviledge of playing this a few days ago on your server (you were obviously making us guinnea pigs1). It's great. This set of maps are all classics. This particular map is a blast for defenders like myself. I love the flag room's balcony as a home. :-)

This was a pretty good map. Unfortunately I've already seen a ton of lava maps, however, that did not take away from the grade. The map was unique and had a lot of cool aspects. I found it especially cool to see those fallen soldiers trapped in forcefields screaming for help, even if it was a bit pointless. You go for the objective and hear "help!". Heh heh, that was funny, and I'm sure it'll be emulated sooner or later.
Anyway, good job, as usual, I look forward to your future maps.

I don't know which is better this or "Tartarus" which is VERY much so based on this map....

as soon as this map pops into the rotation I go out to secure the objective....

its the PERFECT design of a building for this map...with the forcefeild on top but its not too hard to recapture...

a few times now I go into the objective morters blazeing when right before its totally captured a buy blows the gens before we take it...

I deploy my remote inv. and procede to "lock it down" with turrets and sensors...

its like running your own little gas station ect. with teamates goin in and out on capping runs and heay O...

it makes for a good Alamo =)

I have quite a screen shot library of my games on this map and if u are interested I can mail u a few pics of enemys standing on the forcefeild trying to get in while I push VGAW to wave hello to them as the desperatly try to enter the fortress....GREAT MAP!

if u ever play this map i suggest being a "tower attandent" and play there the whole map....it makes loads of fun as the enemy pounds the building with 15 plus morters....

GET THIS MAP IF U RUN A SERVER!

I just wanted to let you know that this is the PERFECT lava map. Probably the only one that I actually enjoy playing. The utilization of the terrain is simply beautiful, and the building placement makes capping tricky without giving the defenders too much of an advantage. The map is just the right size for a vehicluar CTF map as well. The objective is nice...it doesn't give its team total control, just a little edge. All told, this is an excellently designed, well-balanced map that belongs on any CTF server.

This is one of your finest maps. I would have to say that you along with EEPROM are the two most legendary T2 map designers. The only weakness is not knowing BOT support, but it's not like anyone but a selected few does! You taught me just about everything I know about making maps. Im currently working on a map where you just fight with air units, giant walls disallowing anything else to be let out. Does this sound OK?
