Capture the Flag Snow Clear

This is not your standard CTF map. By capturing the objective, your team can lock the enemy either in or out of their base.

What happens is when you touch the switch, forcefields appear in the enemy base blocking all but one of the entrances. They cannot go through the force fields, but your team CAN pass through them. If they get the objective, the force fields switch move to your base and you are now trapped, either inside or out.

There are 3 ways into the flag room so defenses will have to be alert.

The terrain is rough however skiing is possible. There are no ground vehicles. There are pill boxes high in the mountains which are supplied with sniper rifles

For those of you who like CTF maps, but don't like my "base Lockdown" feature, I have included in this vl2 a version of this map with all of that removed. It is just a straight CTF map with no gimmics. It's called The Hammer - No Switch.

Have Fun!

:O Iczer feels that switch will be fought over more than the enemy flags... Oh well, more fun for the defense i suppose! Sounds pretty oddball for a CTF map, but after maps like Ceremony and such that incorporate new ideas in, we begin to crave new tactics and such.

Definately a well thought out map. There are tons of different places to snipe anywhere on the map with ease, and defense will have fun as well! One small thing i noted though, there are TWO ways into your base if it has been taken and your enemy has The Hammer, one through the top of the tower and another in the main hall area where the two stations are. The reason for the second one is this: there are 3 FF bars blocking the windows that can be shot through, but when the FF gen is down those bars are gone, finito, history. Another small detail i noted is where the repair pack is, WAY up next to the ceiling of the main hall earlier mentioned. I particularly liked the base you chose as well, I feel it is underused because people dislike its complexity. It has many different places for Heavy or Medium armors that are raping to set up shop, and still more areas for cloakers to hide. Defense is pretty easy too because of the vast rooms inside the base, so if you mortar an enemy you shouldn't have to worry about killing your own turrets. I also like how you had the VBay facing the opposite direction it normally does (so you can't take a Wildcat or any ground vehicle off the ramp if there was one). It lets shrike pilots simply fly through the two pillar things in front of the station, sort of showing off if they know how to. Definately worth downloading! I particularly loved the loading pic, with the hammers marching in rows (from Merry Melodies i believe). Good work for your third map, you'll have a lot more good maps coming out from what I can predict.

DOH!
Your right about killing the ff's. I totally forgot about that and it never came up in my tests. I did include a repair pack in a more normal place, in a lower corner of the flag room. I stuck that one up there just for fun.
The hammers are actually from a Pink Floyd poster from The Wall.
I'm glad you liked it and thanks for the feedback!

Oops, forgot to mention that this map runs REALLY well on my computer, roughtly hitting 45fps outside.
as for the Hammers, i knew i had seen them around somewhere... Now i remember that it was on a Pink Floyd poster for The Wall. Darn me and my Semester-Finals cramped brain!

Well I haven't actuall seen the map yet but I imagine that it is probably pretty cool. It better be. This guy doesn't leave his home anymore and is constantly plugged into Tribes2. I would however state that there are probably some color issues...you color blind b-otch haha.
