Capture and Hold Capture the Flag Lush Storming

This is a very chaotic map, with lots of capturable objectives. It's my first attempt at a "city map", and as a result had some glitches that needed to be worked out prior to release. Some people complain of framerate issues with it, but it works fine for others, and stays consistently above 30 fps on my system (it really depends on what hardware you have). The city is suspended above water, and is a walled city. Some ground tiles have been pulled up so that you can sneak around underwater. Different buildings have different power sources, and most structures are individually capturable. It's been pretty well received so far. :)

This map was a great idear and I did like it but the loading time was so bad and all the building on a online game can really slow a guy down. I was lagging pretty bad and I dont have a so/so computer. Its a nice one and I have a cable connection and I still lagged. But still threw all this I did like the map.

Hmm...Wow! I really like this map a lot. It's so much cooler with C&H, though, and we all know this map will never get played online in a C&H game with any more than 3 people in it. But... This map is still very cool. I like the variety. I just don't see at all how you could have a good online CTF game with this map. If a team in CTF has all the towers captured, then it's really hard for the other team to get the flag back to their base cause of the turrets. Good for C&H, and a very cool map, but as for CTF servers...I think not.

i just downloaded it and have yet to play it, but it looks downright beautiful. necro has become probably one of the most well known mappers in the T2 universe and continues to make quality maps that are fun and functionable... two things most mappers forget to include in their map scheme.

Great work, Necro! :) I can see you have put a lot of work into this map, and you did an excellent city map. It's too much to describe, take a peek. Just a little word of warning: As this map contains so many structures, the amount of textures is large. Do you own a 3d card with less than 64mb of ram you'll probably notice some breaks when you are moving fast forward (as the card is loading new textures into the ram). You might be able to fix this by lowering the texture quality (lower quality = less space). High-end computers only, for this map... =D

Urban Warfare is a great concept, but I'm afraid that making a server-side map that really captures the concept is nigh impossible. When I think of urban warfare in a FPS, I really think of the Downtown levels from Doom II, and that's really the kind of look that I'd like to see in such a map. That said, Urban Warfare is still a fine map, and while gameplay isn't quite as tight and elegant as on some other maps, it's still fun for a very capture and hold/deathmatch/CTF hybrid style when played in CTF. A couple comments on previous posts: framerate can be a problem, and it was nearly crippling at times for me for a while, but taking the time to really configure my graphical settings made that problem essentially disappear (now it only happens on that infernal SB Fortress ;). Also, taking back bases in this map isn't quite as difficult as some have said. The central objective, with some absurd number of mortar turrets (8?) arrayed on it is definitely one of the most important (if not the most important) base on the map. However, holding it provides a difficult task, as the switch is relatively easy to get to (a skilled jetter with a light should be able to run it with only one or two strikes from the sentry turrets). And even if you can hold ownership of the switch, with turret placement and attentive defenders, keeping the mortar turrets repaired is another task entirely, and really requires support from other bases. Unless the offense is coordinated, holding a majority of the bases (in a CTF game) is not easy if the defenders have anyone actually paying attention and trying to take back those on their own side. All in all, Urban Warfare is a fun map, even if getting midaired by mortar turrets is frigging ridiculous ;)

I'm not mean enough to grade this map! This map is so computer-killing I played it on LAN and it froze up! No offense NB, but maybe for such a famous mapper you want to branch out a little more into the world of SS? The 'urban' structures aren't urban!

All everyone does around here is cry, worked fine on my p4. Nice map necro, got some bugs with the flipflops (due to, about 30 of them being on the mission =P)
