Capture the Flag Desert Clear Bots

A fast, quick version of Fractured Past, in CTF only. Bots work really well, sniper positions, turret and inventory placement, etc.

Because of the short distance, gameplay is that much faster, plus the lag in the huge Fractured Past map is non-existant here.

The lower bases are gone, as are the hangers. Still a lot of fun, tho'!

Credit to StarStriker for the idea!

Have fun.

Hahahaha, nice way to get the screenie for SS2... "going into observer and pulling back a looonng ways"... Heheheh... Try Hal's "Halshot" script to capture the screens, really handy if ya haven't tried it already.

You're joking right? Is the distance between the two bases REALLY that small? They seem practically right next to each other in SS2 if that is a pic of both bases from the CC... Dude, I don't think 'faster gameplay' is the correct term here, more like "Seriously f***ing fast gameplay" would be more in tune if i'm right...

heh. Slight of hand, or whatever.. sorry 'bout that. SS2 was taken zoomed a looong ways out.. if it helps, vis. was set to 1200 just for that screenshot. They're quite a ways (the bases) apart, really. Say, maybe, 900+/-? Give it a shot and see. :)

I am my maps' best commentator. *grin* Really.. this map is *exactly* like Fractured Past, except the lower bases/hangars are gone, and the mission area shrunk to exclude those areas. The Center Missile Base and the two Tower bases are still in the same possition as the old one, as are 70\% of the bridge structures. This was done to up the FPS for the map, and also to give a quick CTF gametype to a map that I enjoy probably the most of all my maps.

My bad :( Actually, I have Halshot.. that's how I take all my screenshots. There's a key-bind or something, tho'.. SHIFT+S takes screenshot, and of course "S" moves the CC map down. I suppose I could just re-bind.. Again, my bad.

Or you can just press "print screen" on your keyboard. Doing this puts the screenshot on to the clipboard, and you can paste it into paint (or something). Anyways, I'll try to get around to trying this! If it has my name in the description, it has to be good :)

Actually, "print screen" puts the image on the clipboard, and saves it as a .png file in the Gamedata directory, "screen1", "screen2", etc etc. The problem is once you exit the game the count resets, so you overwrite screenshots. Nice map btw :D I enjoyed the base layout. Never played Fractured Past, but this one is coo :D

Yup, but lately Iczer's had the oddest things happen with Halshot and hte printscreen key... Whenever he presses one, (just once!) his FPS drops to 5 and his ping (thiiiis part is odd) drops to 0-30, more on the 0 part though... He can't really take any more pics now because of this evil!!

This definetly scores better than the previous version! All the turrets work, and the bots are incredible! The FPS still are a little low in some parts, but not really a problem (13-18 FPS on a 1.4 ghz AMD Athlon with max graphics settings). I definetly enjoy flying my shrike around (try flying up through the bridge supports! hehe...), but found the aerial defenses none too lacking. The flag was easy to grab, but also easy to defend. Unfortunatly, a big fault in this map is that the teams are very different in that they have different buildings in which the flag is located. One is easier to scale than the other. Overall, its a great map, though it has a few mistakes which show. Keep up the good work Pimento!
