Capture the Flag Lush Storming

fast paced action on a generally compact board. Easily defendable, yet easily overwhelmed at the same time. Coordinated attacks are a must.

This is a simple map, and I like simple maps, but too much seems to have been rushed. Unfinished terrain, hasty object placement (though object location is great considering what the author chose to work with), turrets and sesnors placed within the ground instead of upon platforms or stands, for example. Awkward fog levels. Also, I think the main flag/gen structures should be rotated 180 so that flags face one another, as opposed to gens facing one another. Nice map, but it seems unfinished.

I haven't actually played the map, but I thought I might point out that since KillerBagel used the Quagmire terrain without changes, I can't see how you can say it has 'Unfinished terrain' Rilke. How could it be 'finished' without altering the terrain and making it SS?

Please, no flaming. The above was intended only as a calm question, not an attempt at creating bad feelings.

durn 24 hour spam protection. :D Fair question, Zear. Since you asked I loaded up Quagmire and looked at the command screen, which is where I got my information for the criticism. The visual bug caused by too high a peak is present in Quagmire too, but it's hidden from the play area. The visual bug on the command screen for half baked is an eyesore. I made a mistake for saying that the terrain was unfinished, but the result of doublechecking is seeing another way that this mapper, on this map, didn't care about such details. As a critic, I do. Visual bugs take away from my gaming experience, as do clipping oversights and other oversights. Too many of them amount to a souring experience for me and communicates to me that the author didn't give it his all, which is what an "A" is to me.

Thanks for the criticism guys. For my first map it does seem a little rushed, especially now that I'm nearly done with my second. The eyesore part I totally agree with, but it's simplicity is what I really liked. As for the flags facing each other, I had the impression--knowing the speed a capper can gain on this map--that defenders wouldn't have a chance if it were that way. I opted for a way for cappers to screw themselves since there isn't much chasing room. As for the upper level sentry turret trying to fire through the plug..my bad. I dunno how to fix that other than take a bunker and shrink it to fit. hehe Once again though, thanks for the reviews and I'll keep your comments in mind.
