Capture the Flag Snow Clear Night
An icy moon orbits a large planet. The tidal forces are strong enough to create volcanic lava pits. Force fields protect the flag tower but full power can't be maintained and they power off until enough power is produced to charge them back up.
There may be primitive life in the area but is illusive.

This map has some unique features that make gameplay interesting. The cyclic force fields protecting the map makes jump timing critical. The random placement of boulders and rock spears can cause strategies to be slightly different each game. The environment is a mixture of ice terrain, lava, water and meteors.

by Star on July 19, 2001 Permalink · Rating:I like this map for it's origionality in several areas. First, there is a bunker and while I won't give away where it is, it is very unique. You have to careful when trying to get to it though. Second, the support beams are a nice touch as is the elf sound effect that you hear when you are around them. Third, there are lava ponds in a winter landscape. I found that in itself original. I also like the location of the repair packs on the little islands. Fourth, the forcefield around the flag flickers on and off which can be both fun and irritating since it can give the annoying effect of the FF going up right when you're skiing in (although there is a sentry in there to worry about as well). I dunno if you realize there's a water pond too. There's nothing wrong with it, but I thought all of them were going to be lava.
