Containment by ???Unknown??? on June 16, 2002

Siege Snow Snowing

Both the Offense and Defense spawn in the Ultima Thule base, seperated from each other by force fields.

The goal of the Offense is to destroy the Generators in order to take down the force fields blocking their path (keeping them "contained") in order to reach the Switch FF Generator, and in turn, the switch.

The goal of the Defense is to keep the Offense "contained" as much as possible by defending and repairing the Generators and keeping as many FF's up as possible, and keeping the Offense from reaching the switch.

The close proximity of the Offense and Defense can make for some intense gameplay, especially in larger games, but even in smaller games (4-8 players) you can have alot of fun, and the map is still 'cappable'.

The only Gen that must be down in order to cap is the Switch FF Generator, but the other Gens are blocking the path to the Switch FF Gen and the Switch, so they must be taken down at least once.

Hit esc in-game to view the map details.

The biggest complaints I get about this map are that it has too many FF's and can be hard to learn at first. But once people get the hang of it, they really seem to love it, so give this map a few tries before making a final ruling on it. :)

Oh, how I want to give it an F just because of who the stations are named after...

Seeing as I have the EQ generator named after me, not a station, I won't complain, because you didn't dog that, obviously because it's named after me...=)

Sweet map, helped test it but not make it, so it's fair for me to grade. Play it a couple times on LAN and learn how it works, and it is a very fun map. Get on the pond (siege server) and play it today!

I had Bytor remove the F, so it's okay. Oh, and yes, you are "Contained". That would be the point of a map named "Containment".

Its a very cool map, I can tell theres a whole theme of attackers respawning in the defenders base going on with recent siege maps. Anyways I think the generator concept is very confusing but awsome how certain paths open once you take gens down. Also it forces people to get more used to the UT base. All in All I think this map is awsome, and because its siege it deserves a A+. Oh and mosof or whoever the hell you are, you can go to hell to? Whats the F for.

Hello,

I like this map. Its a good map for lots of players...... but its hard to get around because of how you are contained..... but it was the most fun i had in a while.

This map is very fun to play. It helps you to learn the Ultimate Thule base better. I like how you can go outside when the power is down. Good map.

Hmm...it's probably slightly unfair that about 3 or 4 of this map's A+'s are based on the F grade that was removed. So, it's a little unfair, but this is still a great map.

I am glad you all like my map. I must admit that not an entirely huge amount of work went into this map (the beta was up and running in 3 days, from concept, to learning how to map, to end result), but it apparently turned out well, especially considering this is my first map.

One more thing,
Green Jello,
I know you like my map, and I appreciate the comments, but please only vote once, I would really like a fair grading of my map, to know how truly well people like this map, and to know that whatever place it ends up in, I know it deserved that place.

Bytor, If you would be so kind as to remove one of Green Jello's grades, I would appreciate it.

Strange map. There are a few problems, problems attributed to Siege in general. For instance, there's only one way for the offense to attack the Main FF, or the Attic Gen, or basically get to 70\% of the base. This can make spamming a massive problem, except for the fact that both sides feel like doing it. But this map deserves an A+, because it was thought out, planned out, and created to be a massive mortarfest.

One question. How did this get MOTW? Its good and all, and a nice change from all the CS MOTW's we've been getting, but... this map is one of Uknown's crazy rape maps. Still its very nice to see siege start to catch on :)

It got MOTW? Cool!!! :) I guess it got MOTW cause people seem to like it alot. I know it's kinda crazy but it's not that bad is it? I thought Geronimo was a crazier map...

I just played this map last night and I was completly impressed.I started on the offensive and when I switched to defense and saw that hall I was in awe.It was like a whole new video game.Great map dude!

This is the worst map I have ever played. This map is truly what Siege is all about - spam and stupidity. Its inclusion into the T2M vault makes me vomit.

Rofl. I was wondering how long it would take for your Containment bashing to reach the comments (to offset your A+ score eh?). *sigh* Oh well, it doesn't matter. RS is entitled to his opinion, even if it is somewhat of a cynical one...

by ???Unknown??? on March 19, 2003 · Rating:

In other news, I *will* make an update for this that will hopefully fix some of the spamming problems. But I think I'll just release it as a seperate map because this one seems to work fine in base physics, and with smaller teams.

RS is a good guy, and I do appreciate and value his input (though F is rather harsh IMO). As a matter of fact, if it wasn't for his constant bashing of Containment I probably wouldn't even bother with an update, so maybe it's for the best. As for Mr. Tagomi, he is referring to the infamous amount of spam in nearly all my maps. You guys will probably not believe this, but none of my maps were intended to have spam, it just sorta happened that way...

Remember that this map was made back when I could get banned for calling wow! a joke. When I graded this map, I really thought it deserved a B+, but then I would get kicked on a (more) regular basis.
