Capture the Flag Volcanic Foggy

At first glance a flag cap looks easy but it's no walk in the park. The flag is protected by two ELF turrets and they are powered by a generator just below the flag, that generator is protected by forcefields powered by the main base gens. Once the gens are down or the turrets have been disabled, a flag cap should be easy.Heavy offence will have to go by way of the Island off to one side. There are no vehicles. As always I hope you enjoy this map!!

Excellent work, Sparky. This map has come a long way since that little beta you showed us. The gameplay feels better than before though(improved because of thsoe nice rocks you put in, plus the ELF turrets). The generators are cleverly set up, both in appearance and order they should be taken down. The reddish ambience went a long way to make the terrain feel more appropriate for lava, and the fog and sky match the atmosphere perfectly. My fps was decent throughout, and the gameplay is sure to make this one a classic.
My only real complaint is that the map may be a BIT too small to support a larger number of players. Also, the upstairs of each base seems a little too cluttered with crates, but that doesn't really effect gameplay. Great job.

Nice use of current terrains, hard to even recognize it.

The middle lil eye candy with the Altar and howling sounds are a nice addition, and make we just wanna stand there looking :) too bad didnt bleed or something.

Flag placement is great, looks to be easy, but without some help from teammates, you can forget getting it out, with multiple elf turrets and plasma overseeing it. It requires some major offense to destroy them.

The generators are sweet in the lil nook in wall, nice use of building.

Spary does a lava map. =) This has great environmeny and oughta be a winner for those who like the uber-fast paced maps. Snipers, defenders, and cappers will be happy. Also, the general simplicity of the overall design outta get even the most newbie-of-players involved right away.

Lot of what I wanted to say has been said already. Great manipulation of environment to achieve a thematically emmersive map. Dark. Hellish. Hard. I think the use of stackables in the base is fine, but a little anxious as if the Tribesmen who settled there were either compulsive, obscenely clean, or had a lot of time to decorate, defensively speaking (the latter would be likely if'n Meddish made the map.) And yet the small playing field begs a different scenario. Fun. Hectic. Hellish. Generator placement and dynamic is nice but I don't care for the physical representation. They look funny to me and sort of wake me up from the otherwise perfectly manipulated dreamstate. The Yetis could howl a little less frequently/mechanically without harming the ambience. Must name objects like inventory stations and sensors at this stage of the game. Wouldn't hurt to name the bases too. While text has little to do with gameplay, every little thing the mapper has at his disposal should be used to create his unique environment. ELFs too strong? In a vacuum, yes. But after they go down once, disc spam and high rate of attack due to small playing field will likely make it difficult for teams to keep their turrets healthy and their eyes on the prize at the same time. In short, w00t.

Damn Rilke.. you sure do talk =P.. Anyways..this map is one of the better lava maps that I like. Vechs are not need(even though I like vech.) on a map this size it whould just complicate stuff. Repair those elf turrets is going to be a bear.. but If a strong gen d is present it is possible. With the basement gens mortar or satchel can take out easily thus you have to defend the entrances into them, cause if a heavy gets close lob a couple mortars down the chute and boom.. The flag has good placement and good routes with rocks placed in the lava at key points.. the yeti's yell does get a bit annoying but overall.. not an fps hitter and a good teamplay map..defence and repair crucial.. good work Spark....

Serpentar, you're one to talk. You both like to yack, heh.

Cool map, sparky. Fast paced and actually seemed pretty cool with only 2 players. Nice map.

BTW: Very cool generators, this map should be witnessed just for them alone.
