Big Rocks by EEPROM on May 18, 2001

Capture the Flag Volcanic Foggy Night

Get ready for the biggest darn rocks you have ever seen!!! Giant pillers that rise from a sea of lava. Giant fireballs rain from the sky and you must hop from piller to piller to reach your goal, the enemy flag. Deplyables will be hard to deply since the pillers are made of solid rock. Limited vehical support to flying vehicals only, but it's a blast!!! This is my favorite map, may not be my best but I sure love playing it.

Good map EE, I loved playin it with ya, we had some fun huh? A great addition to those maps with straightforward offensive attacking.

I've been playing this map a lot (and I mean A LOT) lately on the Shifter Dev Server, and I gotta say, I like what I see. I'm not sure how it plays on the normal base mode, but I've seen some pretty crazy and impressive things done with it on Shifter.
I really loved the base layout, although spawning on that platform below the base is a real pain (you try to jump to that ledge on the side of that huge rock and most of the time you slip off, especially in heavy armor).
Balance is good, creativity is great, playability is more than fair. I really recommend this map: it's got a lot of good things going for it.

This is a solid map, with a unique idea carried out simply and effectively. The buildings have been scaled very judiciously and the look is fantastic!

I give it a B becuase it seems to have been rushed and could use a little more work to get up to the A range. For example, the turret barrels were not added correctly, and the overhead view reveals bases that were not so much added unsymetrically for strategic sake, but for a lack of time's sake.

I donno. A lot of hype about this very good map. However, it's exactly the opposite of what, as a player, I long for in maps. It is superbly done, but after playing and observing... all I saw was solo runs and boom boom boom. I can play quake or UT for that. Nonetheless, it is extremely well done, and those who need the fast pace constant action and are only about capping runs... this is gonna be a favorite. Personally, I look for maps that tap into the special qualities of T2's team-play aspects. I'm going with a B+, because on the one hand it is so well done, but on the other hand, it's a shrike/bomber oriented, lava-filled, small, too fast, capping fiasco that snipers and soloists will love. I would thus expect it to be popular on the pubs. :-)

Well, I hate this map. No offense, I love most of yours its just that, well There should be more rocks or teleport pads. Hell, its too easy to defend! Nothin' personal EE, jsut dont like this map.

eeproms maps are the best for smaller sized teams, and faster play. This map is just the latest in a string of excellant work. If you want to host a dozen or so of your friends, on say cable or dsl, then I suggest you grab this map, and any others he has done to date. Keep up the good work dude!

GREAT Map. Good job EEMPROM, sometimes the most basic concept is the most fun, and you surely executed the idea perfectly. If this isn't your best map, I can't wait to see what is! :-)

Best close-base map u'll find on T2 right now. Capping is a hard task in this mission, when theres plenty of players, which makes this map great. If you like maps with bases close together then this map is a MUST HAVE.

Man, I thought I reviewed this map already ! Well I'll keep it brief and say I like the close proximity, the emphasis on good jetting, and easily accessable flags.

Fenrir, what I think you meant to say was "There is no possible way for ME to incorporate any strategy into this map." In other words, learn to play the game. :) We play on this map all the time, and I've seen countless different strategies employed.

This map is a very good map. Its construction is that of an expert map, and while it may seem simple, sometimes simple is the way. Good Job.

by Fenrir on July 29, 2001 · Rating:

This map is terrible. No ski routes, only one way in the base. It's impossible to incorporate any stratagy into this map due to the fact that its just thin platforms connected by rocks in a line. Stay away from this map.

by KryandArturo on August 10, 2001 · Rating:

WAY too easy to defend on this map. It shouldn't be played more than 5vs5 if you want to have any fun at all on offense. But since my server only holds about 10 people, I'm running it none-the-less =/

by Tin decoy on December 28, 2002 · Rating:

what can i say ,I love almost every lava level, maybe it the thing where if you fall in to it it says "Tin Decoy wimps out and jumps in to the lava, trying to make it look like an accident" back to the point this map is fun and simple, if you think it sucks so much it should be less that an f than you must be one of those people who love complicated huge levels. not that thats bad,but if you like simple levels hit the download button!
