by Star on May 5, 2001 Permalink · Rating:Lots of fun to be had here. The "defense gens" are useful to attack since they open up the flag. (Those are some BIG gens) The vehicle pad adds a new dimension and the simple base layout is one that I prefer.

by Mathias Black on May 6, 2001 Permalink · Rating:This map is an interesting experience. It really gives you the feel of being on a truly hostile planet. The yellow haze of sulfuric mist, the constant lighting strikes, the increased gravity, all add to the atmosphere of a dangerous toxic planet. Theres only a few things that could use adjustment. The turrets should be placed in a more symmetric pattern. They seem scattered and kind of un even when compared to the other base. The flag base should prolly have a repair pack in it somewhere. Perhaps the tunnel that goes right underneath the flag stand. Its not really a problem, but there are 4 of the biggest gens i've ever seen in the flag gen room. There really only needs to be 2 there and 2 at the shield gens. Also, putting an inv station in the shield gen base might be a good idea, but not required. These problems are minor and superficial. Its a great map, and i look forward to playing it online.
Inconsistent scaling of

BOT support not too bad; they can actually navigate to the flag (kudos), though many get stuck at the bottom of chutes and the usual failure to deploy turrets.
If the fog is actually sulfuric acid, how about scripting 10\% armor damage per minute; make people carry repair packs or move fast. Damage everything, remote inventories, vehicles, everything at 10\% per minute.
Other than the fog, this is a relatively standard map with substandard object placement and scaling, and better than average BOT adaptation; I look forward to future maps from this designer.
