The map is lush and has very deep rivers running through it. One portion of this river separates the Attackers’ area from the Defenders’ area. A long bridge connects the two peninsulas. The terrain plays an important role in this map providing a key ridge on the Defender’s side.
The Defenders are well entrenched on their land. They have ten plasma turrets that guard the shores by the river and the main base. Two large and two medium sensors provide excellent coverage. A total of four generators power all of the Defenders’ assets. Two of these generators power forcefields that guard entry into the main base.
The Attackers’ base comes with one large sensor that provides coverage for their three plasma turrets. A generator powers all these assets as well as the forcefields that cover most of the entrances into the base. The generator is in the bottom of the Attackers’ base. I could not find a repair pack for the Attackers. In the event that generator would be destroyed, they would have no way to repair it except by stealing a repair pack from the other team.
The speed of the map is fast. Defenders spawn deep inside their main base the majority of the time. This gives the Attackers time to bring down some forward turrets and take the first tower. Upon destroying the generator in the first power, a forcefield guarding a bunker over the ridge is taken down along with the two turrets guarding the bridge. Once the bunker generator is destroyed, all forcefields and turrets are disabled and entry to the main base is granted. The switch is in the bottom of the main base.
One thing I think should be noted about this map is the bot support. While pitting yourself against sixteen bots on this map seems daunting, it is not impossible. However, some turret base changes may be necessary…
The only complaint I have with this map has to do with the Attackers’ base. Their base is accessible to the Defenders if they are able to assault it. Although very unlikely, it is possible for the Defenders to destroy all of the Attackers’ assets and forcing them to play the rest of the map without upgrades since there are no repair packs to be found. However, this is extremely unlikely since the base is the hub of activity. Turrets also guard the base and there is only one entrance inside that does not have a forcefield.
This map is excellent for solo or team based playing. Bot support is excellent and puts up a fight. The terrain fits the atmosphere and the bases and towers well. The objectives are clear and not overly difficult to attack (but there is challenge nonetheless). This map was fun when I played it months ago and has not lost any playability since. I feel the previous, aged review given to this map did not give it justice.
