Well,here it is! a map I've been working on for many many months,given up on,redesigned,and destroyed many many times.In the past I usually rely on good old Uncle Bob to take care of the terrain work; but not this time.He accually had a nervous breakdown trying to do the terrain,and in the end he said "Your doin' it yourself you picky @#@**#!!". Anyway there is tons of custom buildings,new skies,and some kick a55 BOT support.I think your really going to enjoy the main base,I spent a few months alone on it.Over all this map has a good feel and it's a LOT of fun ,well It's Heavy download and may take a bit longer than normal to load(lighting). Ok,I'm on netzero again.....so I cant waste too much time getting "lippy"(accually I just thought I should have wrote this earlier and copied it from notepad..D#@#\%$ it).so let me know what everyone thinks of this baby. |

Grade: A+ » Submitted by R7X3 on 12/01/02This map is amazing, the bot support is Very good, the design is superb, and I love the amount of detail in this map, from the streetlights to the skyline, hell, theres even a half-pipe for wildcats. I found myself hopping from streetlight to buildings, and little platforms everywhere, hell I dont think I could count how many times I bounced about like spiderman onto a building or platform, but I'm shure I used nearly every one of them. The bases are a little complicated, it takes a few runs to get everything down, but if you are infiltrating a base, it really captures a Covert op feel, theres even a weapons cache near the ground floor, I found it very useful when I was in the enemy base, using the area to pick up a inv station and drop it in a nearby room, running back to it for more satchel charges. The lighting is also good. Though I think the emergency lighting is a bit bright. I love the other city buildings. I think you should remove one ELF turret from the flag. The FPS stay high, but you should look into some optimizations for the buildings. And the traffic lights good use alot of work. The balance between offense and defense seems pretty good (except for those 2 ELF turrets which I think is a bit much). The spread of the base means that the number of turrets aren't as much of a problem. Plus the smaller size, open rear and midfield spots for dep. inv. help to balance against the turrets. You dont need to have the VD up so high just to see everything. And I found the lighting of the bases fine. Maybe your Gamma is set lower? I hope your grade was not part of the lighting, That is unfair! But I will not go into reasons for that. I want to say that this map is fun with the fog. It's at night to for Gods sake, maybe a new WORLD? Anyway. I have no problem with it, SAW no problems. Smooth on my system, the BOTS are perfect and I never saw any get suck in corners. But this seems to be every map in Tribes 2, very few are lit properly :( But I think your capable of great work so instead of an F you deserve a C at least. I know you can do something amazing.
