The offense must destroy the three generators, Alpha, Beta, and Gamma, to gain access to the switch. However, Beta can only be attacked once Alpha is destroyed, and Gamma can only be attacked once Beta is destroyed. Once Gamma is destroyed, the switch is exposed.

The switch is located inside a crater on a center island. The three generators are in towers extending out from this crater. There are Inventory Stations and a Turret on each tower. A bridge connects each tower to the center island, so you can commute easily.
