Map Details for Information Superhighway |

This version of Information Superhighway should work with base, and with most mods. If you have any other maps installed that use the teleporter code in this map, you MUST delete the newteleporter.cs.dso files before this map will function properly. This is a very large map, with bases approximately 3,000m apart. To make this possible, I have used a spawn room from which players can teleport to their base. This is neccesary due to engine limitations preventing players from spawning outside of a cirtian distance. To help prevent stalemates from occuring, a new script by Sparky causes the flag to be returned if it is carried into the spawn room. This map consists of two bases separated by 3 km of rough terrain, but connected by a winding mountian highway. The highway is gaurded by a center objective atop a tower. The team owning this objective is also able to teleport directly from their spawning area to the center of the map, adding a new twist to the tactics involved in this map. Players will also find that this map changes every time it is loaded thanks to Zear's random organics code. Special thanks to: Sparky: For the teleporters and for the custom script. Grade: A- » Submitted by Iczer3 on 01/12/02Not bad, but the ammount of walls that were used to make the "highway" really hits your FPS (from about 20 down to 9 or so). It shouldn't be too tough for flag defenders to do their job here, but if anyone on HO tries to walk... Let's just say you'll eventually get to the other side, just to have the time run out. because of all the hills/mountains on the terrain even scouts have a tough time coping the long distance. This version will work with base, but not shifter. The only actual differance between the .vl2 is the included teleporter script, which I could not upload separately. |

I would agree that it is just dumb to try and walk in heavy armor however, this is the reason the havoc was placed in the game. I hope this map helps to increase the importance of vehicles and strengthen teamwork. Also, capturing the center objective allows you to teleport from the spawn room to the center of the map. Players could also deploy and gaurd an MPB to stage a heavy attack. Thank you for the feedback.
