Map Details for Echos of Scarabrae |
||
This map was done from memory. I know it has some differences from the T1 version, but it's close enough for government work. Know before you download that this map was tested with a base (no mods) Tribes2 install patched to 23669. |

Grade: D » Submitted by Xanatos on 08/24/02for some odd reason shortly after starting this map, my server started to kick everyone who came on. I thought it was something else that was doing it til I reset the server twice, and loaded another map before trying to load this one. Anyhow I would love to play it, and I am sure it is a good map but the kick issue is a real bummer. Grade: A » Submitted by Jack The Ripper on 06/15/02scarabrae was definitely in my top 10 as a Tribes 1er, and this doesn't look too bad. I now recognize the weathered look, and think it was a good idea (adds character, whatever that means). I have a problem with the runway having such a high ceiling, the low one in Tribes 1 made it a good place to defend without getting sniped. I think that with the addition of bombers (I haven't downloaded this so I don't know if they work) Tribes 2 has made this base harder to defend. Overall good effort and better than I could have done. Any mappers interested in making a city map check out the thread "City Planners". "Y'all have a real nice day now y' hear.", General Edmund Duke, Alpha Squadron. Grade: A+ » Submitted by Taeralis on 02/20/02My favorite overall T1 map, now in T2. I sincerely thank you bud. :D Grade: A » Submitted by -INTERcEPTOR- on 02/18/02Good work, Looks cool :) but i miss some invs from the original Scarabrae, anyways keep up the good work :) Grade: A » Submitted by HALO on 12/15/01I like the way you made the bases look rusted and aged as they have been there over time :) Nice work! Grade: None » Submitted by Vimp on 12/11/01I dunno what EEPROM is talking about when he says you should have imported the orginal Scarabrae base because I don't think thats possible is it? If it was I doubt Nefilim and Tokerz would be spending time on remakes of the T1 classics. I think if you even come close to the originals its a job well done. Grade: None » Submitted by Groucho on 09/25/01Anyway you could add Bot support for those of us who have no skill in doing these things. Thanks! Grade: None » Submitted by Javier on 09/24/01Thank you for your kind comments everyone. The look I wanted for the outside of the bases, was an old weathered look. This being a lush environment, mosses grow in abundance here. Grade: A » Submitted by Iczer3 on 09/24/01hehe, FINALLY SCARABRAE HAS COME TO TRIBES 2!!!!! i'm such a happy person!!! the outsides of the bases look sin ugly, but the interiors are just beautiful (anyone get the name of the care takers they used?). oh, for the post benieth me, the flag is in the correct spot. i can remeber many a time when i was killed at that station getting supplies by a SOB who snuck through the vent... Grade: A- » Submitted by SkaMaster on 09/23/01Well, well. I was hoping this day would come. My favorite Tribes 1 level recreated! The inside of the bases is amazing and I am extremely impressed with it. The outside looks like the building has been there for 1,000 years, and I don't know if that was a goal or not. And I believe I'm right in saying that the flag is on the opposite side of the base from the original. But, like I said, it's a really great job on the base's inside and that itself gives it an A. The best re-created base I've seen yet by far. Grade: None » Submitted by Nefilim on 09/23/01There isnt a way to import T1 bases into T2 that i know of. Grade: None » Submitted by Angry Weasel on 09/23/01Can I import old bases directly into WorldCraft, or do I have to have the T1 WC tools? If so, where do I get them? |

Should've used a different texture pack, the lush textures do not flatter this very well....
