Map Details for Alluvium |

In keeping with the grand Dynamix tradition of maps whose names are hard to understand the meaning of and even harder to casually work into a conversation, I present Alluvium. Alluvium is my first true map. The bases are set about 1,000 meters apart, across waterways, mountains, and lakes. Each base consists of an Equipment Tower, Force Field Generator Bunker, Flag Bunker, and Vehicle Pad. The Flag Bunker has 3 entrances. The two side entrances are protected by force fields controlled by a single generator located in the Force Field Generator Bunker. A hole in the roof of the Flag Bunker is always open. The flag itself is protected by a single ELF Turret located close by. A single generator in the Equipment Tower powers the rest of the base. I hope you enjoy. |

Grade: A » Submitted by Left on 08/21/01my hatred of PJ is tempered by my love of this map. ;) folks, here's what you get - desiccator with no fog and a different set of textures, different base layouts, with the force field generator building significantly closer to the main building. the flag itself is in a building in front of the base, with two blue force field-guarded entrances and a, er, skylight. there's just enough room for a deployable station and the flag inside. this was a fun map to defend on, even considering that i was defending against PJ during playtesting. the action really thinned out once we dropped to 5 on 5... so my advice is to make sure you've got a whole BUNCH of friends to play this map. if only the clients had auto terrain downloading... Grade: A » Submitted by Serpentar on 08/20/01Very good balance with the flag. Definately a teamwork map. I esp like that the water areas are deep enough to fly through. Sentry Turrets are in stragtic spots. Even though the flag has FFs it is still capable if the capper moves fast enough. Even though both sides are not identical. One side doesnt have an advantage over another. Another very good map. |

I didn't play it, but really, defending against the map's creator can be tough, as he knows his way around the map better.
