Map Details for Slapdash Challenge |

I made this variation to add a little more challenge to Slapdash. This map was always fun for cappers 'cause there's not much to stop them, but with the addition of water and a capturable tower in the center of the map, it should be more fun and exciting for all. I think there is a bit more "atmosphere" to the map as well. The tower has three inventories and controls three turrets that are spread across the center of the map, providing that extra challenge for cappers and bombers alike. Bases have been rearranged slightly. Any comments are welcomed and appreciated. This is my first mapping venture, so go easy on me if it sux :) Have fun! |

Grade: B- » Submitted by Star on 07/24/01This map adds little more than water, an objective, and some shuffling of buildings. T2 vets would find it familar if placed on it and not told the map's name. The objective adds a new element, an annoying one which should've been left out imo. RTs in the middle of the map have no place in Slapdash since nothing really happened in the middle; but people liked that (or at least I did). I dunno, I guess original T2 map remakes aren't my thing. |

First off, I would like to say that the original Slapdash is not an easily capturable map. Secondly, the tower in the middle of the map is biased towards the storm side. It may be right in the middle, but Inferno has ski routes right to the objective. Storm doesnt. The tower itself is a spampoint for both sides, thus giving Inferno a HUGE advantage. To fix this map, you need to remove the objective and the associated turrets. However, once that is done, it is the original Slapdash with water and some shifting of the buildings. Overall: A sound editing job of an original. More time needs to be spent addressing the side-effects of major map changes though.
