This mission takes place on the branches of a giant tree. The bases are only 200 units apart, but since it would be impossible to walk (LOL what an understatement), several floating pads have been provided for HO players or mediums with inventories. The incredibly short distance and altitude aspect should make for some very interesting gameplay.

This is my third T2 map so I would like some feedback.

Yes, Crow's Nest did do it, but it didn't do it WELL. I've played 20 person games on that map and it follows the same pattern: "*yawn* When am I going to get to the damn enemy base already?" It's just good to know someone did it better :)

the screenshots are now up to date. enjoy!

just so everyone knows those shots are not up to date; they will be once you see two trees and the bases level, but for now just disregard the screenshots and download the map - its awesome!

my problem is that i cant see what my map does to framerates cause my comp's so fast (sorry to gloat). But im surprised that you lag on a P3 800 256 MB ram etc... when i dont lag at all and im on an AMD athlon 1100 256 MB ram GeForce 2 GTS. maybe your graphics settings are too high.

nice concept. unfortunately, my framerate took a severe beating (crashing to 10-24fps outside ... on a p3-800 / 256mb / gf2 gts 64mb !), so the game was virtually unplayable unless i stayed inside. even so, there were lots of objects and framerates still stayed pretty low. the uneven height issue was also noticeable. with 24 players playing it, this map was basically a madhouse. but not in a good way, thanks to the low framerates. :( so, either some optimizations need to happen or some major reworking needs to be done here...

Just use two trees in the same location (overlap the trunks). Then rotate one of them. I've done this before and it can make for some pretty good looking trees (and it also solves the uneven height problem).

yes i have just realized the height issue and will be working on finding a more balanced tree, or maybe 2 identical trees. thank you for the grades =)

This map is pretty good, however, it's been done. A map called Crow's Nest is virtually identical in style, excepe you can't fly from base to base without a vehicle. Other than that, I have the same uneven hight complaint as above.

This map definitely gets the coveted "A" grade =) The atmosphere is excellent, and that tree is indeed big. The only complaint I would have about the map is that one side has a height advantage over the other. Spam is much easier when you're higher than the place you're spamming and harder when you're below. Once I saw that miniature base on the ledge inside one of the bases I had to give it an "A" =)
