Map Details for Prelude to Apocalypse |
||
A Blood Eagle dropship, on its way to assault a Diamond Sword service station, malfunctions and crashes. Most of the cargo was destroyed on impact, and the base fell into a lava-filled crater. The Blood Eagles were able to assemble a small, crappy base out of debris and salvage a Havoc APC. Their remaining supplies wont last forever, so their only hope is to capture the Diamond Sword base and defend it. |

Grade: None » Submitted by Lead Falcon on 07/20/01i resubmitted a revised version where the attackers base is farther away (like in caldera) and both sides have repair packs. Grade: C- » Submitted by Spinfusor Salad on 07/19/01It may have been decent with a little more thought put into it... but what i tell ALL MAP MAKERS IS....THINK OF HOW THIS GAME WITLL PLAY ON A 80 MAN SERVER!...when u run that scenario down u get a VERY VERY VERY heavily mortered attacker base....also with a lack of a repair pack this one goes down the pooper real fast...REALLY REALLY fast... Grade: None » Submitted by Lead Falcon on 07/18/01hmmm... on my computer i always spawn in or very near to the attackers base when im an attacker and when im a defender my stuff is always powered. i dont know what happened on yours... also, the equipment generator is not supposed to be waypointed, as it does not power the forcefields blocking the switch. your point about the proximity of the bases is a valid one though. i will look into extending the mission area and moving the attackers base farther away. thanks alot for the input! this is only my second map in T2 (im a veteran T1 mapper) so you really cant expect much =) Grade: C » Submitted by Red Shifter on 07/18/01This map needed a little bit more thought put into it. When I started, I started pretty far away from the attacker's base. I was also an attacker. That is a very bad thing to do. Also, the defender's turrets don't work. The turrets weren't even powered. The defender's equipment generator was unlabeled. Most attackers like to see where the generators are in the base on custom maps. These glitches wouldn't be half as bad if the ability for the defenders to attack the attackers was not so great. It's possible to mortar the attacker's equipment from the base! The attackers have two turrets and a sensor protecting them, easily rocketable from the defender's base. This map should have gone through a little more thought. |
