The eyes of the galaxy fall on this dreary planet to watch the exciting and insane DeathRacer matches. Your job is simple. Don't let the crowds down. Capture the enemy flag 10 times and your team wins. The DeathRace course is a hovertrack, but lucky for you a river runs directly below the raceway. All vehicles are available from the stations, and offramps are available for access to the islands. But be careful when driving the wheeled vehicles down the offramps as you can get them stuck (pylons were added to help prevent vehicles getting jammed on the lightposts). There are two objectives in the middle of the racetrack that control multiple turrets. But don't expect to hold the objectives for very long as the switches are in the open. This mission is graphics-intensive, meaning some users may have to lower their graphics settings to afford maximum frame rates. The map has been thoroughly tested and works great with mods like Shifter. Enjoy. |

Even with a few people this map is a blast. Its great at lan parties and on-line. This map is a must get!!!! You will never stop playing it once you get it. Also there needs to be more servers with this map on it!! Well Great Job Lex!! And hope to see more!!! Grade: A- » Submitted by Star on 07/19/01I liked this map cause it was challenging. It will no doubt be a mad rush to ge the objectives at the start of the match. For my own amusement, I captured both, switched to the other team, and tried to grav cycle to the other base. I could get almost to the other team's vehicle pad before I'd have to bail (nasty RTs). The map does indeed lower fps some but I get such high fps (enough gloating Star) that it didn't matter. I also liked how thick the fog got when you were at the water level. The forcefield gen was in a well thought out place because a capper could potentially bring it down, grab the flag nearby, and get out of one of the windows that was formerly protected by an FF. This would make interesting gameplay if more ppl would download it :/ |

I guess this is my "sleeper" hit. If I do say so myself, this map is a load of fun. I'm updating it to 2.0 soon, with outdoor flags and an airbase around back (currently being tested).
