Map Details for The Moors |

This is a balanced CTF map with each team having a main base, and two remote towers. Each tower has 2 inventory stations and it's own generator providing power. Also there is a sensor near each tower which is powered by the tower's generator. Each main base has 2 generators which power 3 inventories in the base. The base generators also provide power for the vehicle station, a pulse sensor, AA turret, Missile turret, flag sentry turret, and the vehicle station inventories. This vehicle station provides air vehicles only. There are repair packs at the main bases, and the remote towers. This map has rolling terrain and is very fast. Cappers will love the side, and back routes. Deployable sensors will be a must to allow the base turrets to do their job. This is the type of map I enjoy playing myself..I'd love to see a few others get a kick out of playing it as well :) |

Grade: None » Submitted by ShadowNC on 07/09/01Repair packs should be quickly accessible at both towers and at the main bases. Did you find the ones at the main bases Rilke? :) They are on the outside ledge above the front doorway of each base. Grade: B+ » Submitted by Rilke on 07/07/01This map is a sturdy effort. No clipping errors, no frills, little if any clutter. Simple design, which fulfills the author's purpose well: skiiable terrain, bases just far enough apart, two flags, two gen bases, towers. The ski routes are very fun. Rollercoaster: agreed! I'd like to see a few changes to this map. The bases used cohere with one another well, but I thought the space within the towers could have been used better. Something like INVs in the tower alcove and gens somewhere else in the tower. The main bases turret may as well be on part of the main base structure to reduce clutter. The sentry on the flag tower is just as futile in T2 as it was in T1, but that's not shadow's fault! :) And I like it there and would have put it there myself. Repair pack placement throughout the map could use some work, though how important is that really? Once you get beyond whether they're far or near, the rest is cosmetic. But by all means be cosmetic! The audio atmosphere is balanced: not too much, not too little. The fog, I thought was too light for the night sky. Doesn't look odd, but I wondered what a darker fog might do. Shadow, I would love to see some more of your work. Pimp this map and get some more feedback! Grade: None » Submitted by ShadowNC on 06/30/01Good, fast gameplay is what I was going for. I made it clientside because I just couldnt find the rolling terrain style I wanted with the T2 terrains. Thx for the feedback. Grade: B- » Submitted by mccannon04 on 06/30/01not bad for your first map (or first you uploaded here) it looks like a good place to go skiing. You did a good job of setting up the bases and stuff but these days, if you wanna make a successful client side map, its gotta have something extra, something really creative. Thats why for now, i stick to server side maps. although it could have some good gameplay, its hard to ever get anyone to download and host a client side map |
