I have fixed a few of the problems with the map, the solar panels are now a bit harder to destroy, and all the messed up names on the generators and turrets have been fixed. As for the comment about there being too many generators to destroy, there are only 4 ... the two solar panels and the two gens right by them. If you check the top of the control point base, the forcefield lets both teams pass through. Grade: A+ » Submitted by Ghetto Charlie on 06/02/01The most amazing map I have seen yet. A nice lowlying fog and it is visually stunning. I love the smoke coming from the Blood Eagle Sensors. The Abandoned base is very interesting, dead Blood Eagle and Derm bodies are a nice touch. I love the fact that the Blood eAgle base is half under water and the vehicle station is somewhat submerged. The sensors are hard to defend which makes things interesting. I love the lightning near the capture point. It screams 'Rush, hurry, hurry, rush..." the atmosphere gives you the true idea that you are fighting for your land. It gave me goosebumps. But the names of objectives are kind of wacky, but im sure thats not your fault. KEEP UP THE GREAT DETAILED WORK! Grade: B- » Submitted by wow! ion.cannon on 06/01/01I have a very hard time ranking this map. While it is probably the most visually stunning map I have seen, it is also one of the less practical ones. First of all, I was struck by lightning twice in about 10 minutes of testing the map. Considering I've never been hit by lightning before, that should say something. Secondly, if you are going to have gens that you have to hit sequentially in order to reach the switch, you should really have them closer together. This map seems to me like it would be like Respite, only with 3 major gens to hit instead of 2... and with turrets might I add. You will notice that most of the towers in siege maps don't have turrets on them. None of them have 2. The last minor thing that kinda stuck out to me was the naming of the objectives. All the turrets were named things like "Balcony Turret Turret" and gens were named "Main Generator Generator". Oh and the name on that one base was something like "Force Base Forcefield Generator Generator"... umm anything that takes up like 4 inches to display the name on the screen is probably too long. You might want to look at shortening the name on that one :). Grade: B+ » Submitted by Leonidas Tzu on 05/30/01This map is stunning, the atmosphere, the shield blocks on sewer entry to gen rooms, the outer leaning blood eagle tower, underwater gens, all of it is utterly amazing. I think the solar panels should be protected, and the final entry to switch looks to become a popular spamfest because of the shield and narrow drop down to the final objective. Overall, an impressive map Grade: A » Submitted by Spence on 05/30/01What can I say? An extremely excellent and well thought out map. Better than most of the original maps in my opinion. Could hardly be improved upon. I love the whole atmosphere of it. Very creative! Very cool! Grade: B » Submitted by TseTse on 05/28/01Great concept. Fast and furius. Maybe too fast for siege? Those solar panels is basically impossible to defend (one player with missile lock from above and it's over). I can't give this an A, for that reason, and would suggest a different approach over those exposed panels. Certainly one to add to the rotation, either way. |
