Map Details for WetWorld 2

This is a revised version of WetWorld, meant to supercede the original, but of course it's up tot he server admins to decide which they like better. :) WetWorld is a nice map with a single base per team, a moderate distance between the bases, and lots of water. Skiing is nearly impossible, and travelling on foot is difficult, making it a vehicle-centric mission. The low-laying fog can allow tanks to hide easily, and the upper fog layer can make visibility poor for high-flying vehicles, so there are trade-offs and advantages and disadvantages to all approaches. Revisions include an increased vehicle ceiling, and sentries in the gen rooms. Enjoy!

The small islands make for an interesting map, but... The bases are way lopsided. The northern base has a single small island for the enemy to attack from, but the southern base can be surrounded on three sides and bombarded. While the bases themselves are identical, the landscape favors the northern team bigtime. Send two heavys to the right and left flank of the southern base and start pounding them. A light can easily sneak up the middle and wreck havoc- and that's just one scenerio that favors the northern team.

Certainly an improvement, although I'm biased because NecroBones is a clanmate and a friend. :) I hadn't thought of the vehicle ceiling issue, but I do take advantage of it as I like flying the bomber. You are right about Necro not skimping on the inv stations...one of the pet peeves we had in the first game on some maps were the long lines. But more than lines, you gotta have stations which are convienient. The people who place ATM machines in malls could learn a thing or two from Necro (Who decided they get put on the opposite ends!?). :)

This map is popular with the players on my server, who love the chance to take their bombers and shrikes underwater. I gotta say this about Necrobones's maps, he doesn't stint the inv stations. The vehicle ceiling makes it possible to fly a bomber waaaaay up and just rain bomb-death down on the enemy base. Retaliation is difficult, though we did see a suicidal shrike successfully take out a high-altitude bomber. I might lower that ceiling a bit. I could do without the fog underwater (if possible). Another tweak might be to make taking down the power easier, and to make living without power more painful. (A base turret, perhaps?)

A pretty cool map. It is quite simplistic, which leads to a lot of fun, and not confusion. Simple base desing, and a nearby vehicle pad ensures you are allways close to the action.
