This is a revised version of Air Support, meant to supercede the original, but of course it's up tot he server admins to decide which they like better. :) Air Support is an air-centric mission, with large floating bases, multiple vehicle pads, and a large distance between the bases. This really encourages air-battles, and a lot of people have really enjoyed this map. Revisions were at the suggestion of players, and include the addition of sentry turrets in a variety of places, and a few more inventory stations. Enjoy! |

Grade: A+ » Submitted by Left on 05/24/01i can't get onto my server when Air Support 2 comes up in the rotation. that's how much people like it. actually, they seemed to go nuts over the first one too, but the revised version makes flag capping a little more interesting and base-raping a little harder. plus, the large distance between base is a good way of driving home the message: "hey, lone n00b shrike pilot ... lose that plane and you walk back to base." :) yes, the kids love their vehicle maps. most of them get annoying after a while. today people begged me to extend time on this map until i had set it at unlimited after an hour's worth of play. that's a good map, IMO. Grade: B+ » Submitted by Aerothorn on 05/23/01Great level! Air battles in abundance. Gens are quite hard to kill without fusion mortar now because of turrets protecting them. Flags may seem a little exposed, but from my experience there are always people in that area anyway. Grade: B » Submitted by Ceej on 05/21/01The territory around the bases isn't identical, with the result that players without energy packs can't jump up to one base from the ground, but they can reach the other. I would fix one side or the other just for fairness. Airbattles you got, in spades, plus snipers on the hillsides. Taking generators down has rewards, though it might be a little too easy. The complexity of the bases makes it hard for defenders to move around inside quickly. |
