Grade: C » Submitted by Ninja on 05/14/01I agree it is a bit of an inconvenience for high-traffic servers to require downloads, but most of the ideas I've done for my maps so far REQUIRE custom terrain, and you can't alter terrain at all for server-side maps. Without custom terrain, there'd be no Virgo, no Scorpio, no Sagittarius, and certainly no King of the Hill. :-) Hopefully this site makes it a little easier to get these maps distributed. I know our server admin keeps our server's current set of maps available for download at our tribe's web site. Then he threw in a message of the day on the server to let people know where they can get the maps. You might want to try that... It's hard to run your maps on a high traffic server because, chances are, most people will not have downloaded your maps. Please make versions of your maps in a all-player-use form!
