Map Details for Daisho |
||
Two bases seperated by a fair length of land. A capturable Tactical Advantage on middle ground is flanked by two large lakes. Each base is outfitted with two Turrets initially charged with Plasma Barrels for Defense. Vehicle Pads have been placed to secure a quick gain on the ground that must be covered to reach your objectives. Ver 1.1 Updated: Generators in the original release were under the wrong SimGroup which caused the Storm generators to be in the Inferno base and vice-versa. |

Grade: A » Submitted by Hirokie on 07/13/01I love this map.It is probably one of my favourites.I have only just recently got tribes two and playing with my friends and bots on this map is great.As soon as I start I go straight for the tactical advantage base and attempt to sabotage the enemy generators afterwards.I suggest this map to people who like to play with bases and heaps of people.An excellent map I do say.(Hi Andrew!) Grade: C » Submitted by {BarX}Little Fox on 06/18/01haven't played the map just downloaded it and it looks neat except seeing the other comments. A low ground map would be cool if it was under ground bases. Yeah make it like an Indian Nuclear Underground test map!!! Lol come to the surface and and u see a big nuke cloud in the background. Grade: B+ » Submitted by WhiteOni on 05/14/01I downloaded this map... I played this map.... I LOVE THIS MAP =) Grade: C » Submitted by Stuart "Vovin" Presley on 05/11/01Just to note that this version has been updated such that the generators are fixed. Grade: D » Submitted by Aggrippa on 05/08/01Well I'll admit it's probably a personal thing but when bases are this dissimilar I get alittle worried. There are very few instances where I have seen it work. But I dont let these personal views enter into the way I grade a map. The reason I graded Daisho the way I did is because of simple things that should have been caught before it was submitted. There is a lake on the Storm side that has a large air bubble under the serface, and the generators for the teams are in opposing bases. The lake problem is just a little thing but the generator placement makes the map unplayable. Unless you want to play "STG SaveTheGenerator" instead of CTF. Grade: C+ » Submitted by Zaccix on 05/06/01Last night I played the original Daisho, and upon taking out the Inferno generators found that my base (Storm) had gone down. I was thinking, "hang on a sec..." :) It's good to see this fixed. Anyway, this is a decent map, although a bit Slapdash-like. The base missile turrets take some planning to get around, and there are some nice spots for deploying a Jericho (especially near the capturable objective). Grade: B- » Submitted by Star on 05/05/01I'm seeing a "Capturable Objective in the middle" trend starting to show up in t2 maps, and I like it. Only have two qualms with this map. 1) The bases are not the same, even though they are about the same when it comes to defending the inside, the outside is easier to defend for the inferno side. 2) Storm's bases are on low ground, and Inferno's are on high ground giving Inferno an advantage. All those minor issues aside, I wouldn't mind this map being in the loop. |

After playing 1.1 of this map, my friends and I have been playing very little else. :-)
